City Operations
- Ormiston - Arborist (Tree) Work - Dundas & Delancey Streets Nature Belts - 76-78 Dundas Street, 157 Delancey Street & 134 Delancey Street
- Redland City Council’s staff are intending to undertake Arborist Work in sections of bushland within Ormiston. Work is removal of undesirable vegetation (tree removal/pruning) to establish and/or strengthen fuel reduction zones (firebreak). - No Road Closure Traffic Control and/or advisory signs will be placed in locations where traffic may be impacted.. This work is planned to commence Thursday 7 November 2024 and to be completed by Wednesday 13 November 2024 between the hours of 7.30am and 4.00pm (weather permitting).
- - Paperbark Removal and Replacement Program - Various RCC
- RCC contractor will complete the Paperbark removal program in the coming weeks. Affected residents will be notified one week prior. Tree removal, stump grinding, and replanting (if suitable) will be done within 48 hours at each location. - No Road Closure. This work is planned to commence Tuesday 5 November 2024 and to be completed by Friday 31 January 2025 between the hours of and (weather permitting).
City Infrastructure
- Victoria Point - Sewer Main Extension/Connection - Carnoustie Court,
- City Water Contractors are undertaking sewer works to connect a new subdivision, with works expected to take 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. - Full Road Closure Daytime road closure with traffic control in place. These works are planned to occur between the hours of 6.30 am and 5.00 pm, commencing on Tuesday 4 June 2024 and completed by Friday 28 June 2024, weather permitting.

- Alexandra Hills - PDG-46371-1 - Drainage Upgrade Abelia and Robinia Street – Demolition: 17 Abelia Street, Alexandra Hills
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the demolition of 17 Abelia Street, Alexandra Hills (house) creating an overland flow path through the vacant alotment to minimise the impact on surrounding properties during rain events. Expected Start date: 21/10/2024 Expected Finish date: 18/11/2024 (Weather and site conditions permitting)
- Birkdale - PDG-20293-1 - Willard's Farm Restoration, Birkdale
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be completing the following works: Partial demolition, restoration of building elements and construction of building elements, and installation of stormwater, electrical and hydraulic services and associated works. It is anticipated that restoration works will be comprised of various components including building restoration, site preparations and service utility upgrades. This includes: • Restoration works for the existing House (including service utility connections); • Restoration works for the existing Milking Shed; • Restoration works for the existing Cream Shed (Creamery); • Access Platform construction for the existing Cream Shed (Creamery); • Restoration works for the existing Garage; • Restoration works for the existing Cistern; • Viewing platform construction for the existing Cistern; • Restoration works for the existing Elevated Tank; • Install security lighting; and • Install CCTV security system; Timeline: 28 AUGUST 2023 through to 28 JUNE 2024, 7.00am to 6.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Capalaba - PDG-20828-1 - Community Infrastructure Program – Shade Sail – Bowen Street Park, Capalaba
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of shade sails over existing play equipment and associated works. Expected Start Date - 04/11/2024 Expected Finish Date - 21/11/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Capalaba - PDG-44852-1 - Park Renewal - Howlett Rd Park Capalaba
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking Installation of Play Unit with slide and climbing. Double Swing and spinning seesaw. Walk the wiggly line, mirror me, and hopscotch stencil to pathway. Shade sail, seating, water point with dog bowl, park name sign, landscaping and new turf for areas that have disrupted. Removal of play equipment, seating which are in poor condition and associated works. Expected Start date: 18/11/2024 Expected Finish date: 20/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting).
- Cleveland - PDG-64515-2 - Kinross Road Development Sewerage Trunk Infrastructure New Pump Station
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking installation of New Pump Station and associated works. Expected Start Date - 15/07/2024 Expected Finish Date - 12/02/2025 (Weather and site conditions permitting)
- Cleveland - PDG-20822-1 - CIP – Fitness Equipment – William Ross Park, Cleveland
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of fitness equipment, cycle seat, tai chi wheel (single), butterfly press and dexterity bar on artificial turf, fitness equipment, signage, sandstone block seating, turf to disturbed area and associated works. Expected Start Date - 18/11/2024 Expected Finish Date - 13/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Dunwich - PDG-63193-1 - Dunwich WWTP Upgrades - Stage 1 Dewatering Unit
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be supplying and installing a pre-identified fit for purpose Screw Press (dewatering unit) to necessary Licenses, Codes, Australian Standards and agreed performance requirements. Timeline: 23 October 2023 through to 30 April 2024, 7.00am to 5.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Macleay Island - PDG-41079-1 - Macleay Island Russell Tce Foreshore Protection
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking foreshore protection activities including preparation for installation of armour rock, core rock, geotextile and other associated works. Expected Start Date - 25/11/2024 Expected Finish Date - 21/02/2025 (Weather and site conditions permitting)
- Mount Cotton - PDG-20826-1 - Community Infrastructure Program – Shelter with seating, Soccer Goal - Mount Cotton Community Park, Mount Cotton
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking upgrade works to the park, including; turf remediation, the installation of a new shelter with table and seating combination, a soccer goal and associated works. Expected Start Date - 21/10/2024 Expected Finish Date - 06/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Ormiston - PDG-20821-1 - Shade Shelter – Raby Esplanade Park, Ormiston
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of shade shelter with custom laser cut ‘bike play’ graphics, table setting and seating; bike rack and parking sign with line marking; landscaping, turf to disturbed areas and associated works. Expected Start Date - 04/11/2024 Expected Finish Date - 06/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Redland Bay - PDG-30111-1 - Weinam Creek Dredging, Redland Bay
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking dredging and removal of accumulated sediment within Weinam Creek, Redland Bay. Redland City Council Contractors will also be undertaking associated environmental monitoring and survey as required during the dredging works within Weinam Creek, Redland Bay. The Ferry Terminal will remain operational during the dredge program. Some minor inconvenience/ delays could be experienced. - Redland Bay - PDG-46600 - Weinam Creek PDA Stage 3F, Meissner St Northern Bus Stop.
- Redland City Council’s Internal Construction Crews will be undertaking works related to the Weinam Creek Development. As part of this project, Council will be constructing infrastructure within the Weinam Creek PDA Precinct. Works will involve, but not limited to: • Installation of a bus stop shelter. • Installation of footpath. • Installation of kerb & channel. • Lower existing sewer manhole. • Installation of stormwater line. • Installation of a retaining wall & fence. • Installation of Linemarking & TGSI. • Placement of turf to disturbed areas. • Other associated works required to complete this project. Timeline: Monday 9th September 2024 through to Friday 22nd November 2024, 7.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Redland Bay - PDG-20825-1 - Community Infrastructure Program – Playground Equipment – Bedarra Street Redland Bay
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of a play unit with ball toss and rubber domes, both rubber and sand softfall areas and sandstone block seating. A shade sail structure will also be included in the project scope and associated works. Expected start date: 13/11/2024 Expected finish date: 20/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)

- Thorneside - PDG-44185-1 - Sports Field Lighting Upgrade - William Taylor Memorial Sports Field
- Redland City Council Contractors will be upgrading the sports field lighting at William Taylor Sports Field 1, Thorneside and associated switchboard works. The number of lighting towers will decrease from 6 to 4, but advanced LED technology will provide superior coverage and performance. Expected Start Date - 08/10/2024 Expected Finish Date - 13/12/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Thornlands - PDG-20827-1 - Community Infrastructure Program – Solar Lights - Robert Mackie Park, Thornlands
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of Solar lighting, as well as turf remediation as required, along existing footpath to Dog Off Leash Area and associated works. Expected Start Date - 14/10/2024 Expected Finish Date - 11/11/2024 (weather and site conditions permitting)
- Thornlands - PDG-46367 - Ribonwood Street, Thornlands - Drainage Improvements
- Redland City Council’s internal construction crews with assistance from contractors will be undertaking drainage improvements at 20 Ribonwood Street, Thornlands. These will involve the following, but not limited to: • Minor clearing of vegetation within the reserve at 2-18 King Street, Thornlands to allow Council Staff and Contractors access to install stormwater pipes (450mm in diameter) in the newly acquired easement behind 108 Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, Thornlands. • Installation of a pre-cast V drainage system across the driveway access which services houses 22a & 22b Ribonwood Street. • Creation of a bund wall at 20 Ribonwood Street to elevate flooding issues to the houses on the lower side of the area funneling water away from the houses. Timeline: 29th October 2024 through to End of December 2024. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Thornlands - PDG-20823-1 - Community Infrastructure Program - Shade Sail - Manning Esplanade Park Thornlands
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of a new shade sail over existing play equipment and replacement sail; water point with dog bowl and bin enclosure with park signage; installation of a sandstone seating wall and extension of sand softfall area; turf to disturbed area and associated works. Expected Start date: 4/11/2024 Expected Finish date: 28/11/2024 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Victoria Point - PDG-NA - Cleveland Redland Bay Rd, Victoria Point - Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)
- The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking a $110 million package of works to upgrade Cleveland-Redland Bay Road. Part of the project includes duplicating Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from Anita Street to Magnolia Parade.
