Frequently Asked Questions

All applications must be submitted online via the Redland City Council's Recruitment Portal. You can apply for jobs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from anywhere, using a range of electronic and mobile devices.

You can also login and view the status of all the jobs you have applied for, register for free job alerts, and track the progress of your application throughout the recruitment process. Hard copy or email applications are not accepted.

Applying for positions through Redland City Council’s Recruitment Portal.

Whilst many of the benefits of online recruitment are internal to Council, including a reduction in paper-based applications, faster turnaround time for our recruiting managers and a reduction in risk of human error, there are also significant benefits to you as an applicant:

  • You have immediate access to advertised vacancies
  • You are able to login and track all the jobs you’ve applied for, including your application
  • You can set up free job alerts to ensure you never miss out on seeing suitable vacancies at Redland City Council
  1. Visit our Recruitment Portal and create a Profile
  2. Login and select the JOB MANAGEMENT tab
  3. Select the SAVED SEARCH / ALERTS tab and click "Create New Job Alert" button and complete the necessary fields
  4. Save your Job Alert

You will receive an email (overnight) when a job that relates to one of your preferred job categories is advertised.

Once you have submitted your application, you are unable to make a change to your Resume and Cover Letter.  If you do need to amend either of these documents, you will need to:

  1. Withdraw your application
  2. Resubmit your application
  3. Upload your amended documents with the resubmitted application.

Important information:  you can ONLY make this change while the job is still being advertised. No change can be made once the job advertisement has closed.

An automatic email will be sent to your nominated email account asking you to activate your account. If you did not receive the email, check your Junk Mailbox as it may have been directed there.

  1. Click on the relevant advertisement and scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on the Position Description link to open a PDF copy of the Position Description.

You will receive an automated email on receipt of your application. If you do not receive an acknowledgement email within a few minutes, check your Junk Mailbox.

Each job advertisement includes contact details for the recruiting officer. If you are after specific information about the position, please contact this officer.

All job advertisements close at 11.59pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) on the date indicated on the advertisement.

No. You may begin the online application process and save your attachment(s) as a draft, then return to it at a later date to fully submit your application. Please note: if you have not fully submitted your application prior to the close date, your application will not be considered.

Login to the Recruitment Portal then:

  1. open the JOB MANAGEMENT tab
  2. select the SAVED APPLICATIONS tab
  3. under Actions, select "Apply" and follow the steps to finalise your application.

You will then receive an automated email acknowledging receipt of your application.

To withdraw our application, please login to the Recruitment Portal then:

  1. open the JOB MANAGEMENT tab
  2. select the OTHER APPLICATIONS tab
  3. under Actions, select "Withdraw application" and follow the prompts.

You can remove yourself as a registered user by logging into the Recruitment Portal then:

  1. open the MY PROFILE tab
  2. select "Delete Profile" in the right hand corner of the header within the Candidate Profile section
  3. follow the prompts to permanently delete your profile.

By registering for a ‘Job alert’ you will know when a suitable vacancy is being advertised. Redland City Council does not accept any unsolicited applications and we do not match your uploaded resume to current vacancies.

Yes. You will receive an email notification if you are not successful in progressing to the interview stage. If you would like feedback on your application, please contact the officer who was listed on the job advertisement.

Once a job has closed it is not possible to submit a late application online.

By subscribing to our Job Alerts you will be emailed as soon as a suitable vacancy arises. Remember, the vacancy will disappear from our website at 11:59pm on the closing date and applications will no longer be accepted after this time.

Tip: Allow plenty of time prior to the closing date to prepare and submit your application.
