City Operations
- Capalaba - Fountain Repairs - Council Chambers Bloomfield Street Cleveland
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking maintenance works to Water Fountain in front of the Cleveland Council Chambers - No Road Closure. This work is planned to commence Monday 16 October 2023 and to be completed by Thursday 26 October 2023 between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (weather permitting).

- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of signage, trail bollards, pressure wash and repaint shelter. Removal of poorly conditioned timber bollards. Expected Start Date - 22/05/2023 Expected Completion Date - 29/09/2023 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Alexandra Hills - PDG-20814-1 - Solar Lighting Upgrade – Windemere Road Park, Alexandra Hills
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of solar lighting; constructing a footpath down to the second Dog Off Leash Area gate; and associated works. Expected Start Date - 09/10/2023 Expected Finish Date - 16/11/2023 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Alexandra Hills, Birkdale, Cleveland, Thorneside, Capalaba, Ormiston, Victoria Point - PDG-56006-1 - Sewer Gravity Main Condition Assessment
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking sewer main cleaning, inspection and maintenance. Sewer mains will be cleaned with high pressure water to remove fat and grit and other potential causes for blockages before being inspected by CCTV camera to detect pipe cracks, breaks and other defects in the sewer network. There will be no planned outages of customers sewer services during the works. Some private properties will be required to be entered to access maintenance holes within property boundaries and those residents will be receiving notifications via letterbox drop. Timeline: 11 August 2023 through to 01 October 2023, 7.00am to 6.00pm with some areas being completed on nightshift between 8.00pm to 5.00am where necessary to avoid peak period of high sewage flow. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Birkdale - PDG-20293-1 - Willard's Farm Restoration, Birkdale
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be completing the following works: Partial demolition, restoration of building elements and construction of building elements, and installation of stormwater, electrical and hydraulic services and associated works. It is anticipated that restoration works will be comprised of various components including building restoration, site preparations and service utility upgrades. This includes: • Restoration works for the existing House (including service utility connections); • Restoration works for the existing Milking Shed; • Restoration works for the existing Cream Shed (Creamery); • Access Platform construction for the existing Cream Shed (Creamery); • Restoration works for the existing Garage; • Restoration works for the existing Cistern; • Viewing platform construction for the existing Cistern; • Restoration works for the existing Elevated Tank; • Install security lighting; and • Install CCTV security system; Timeline: 28 AUGUST 2023 through to 28 JUNE 2024, 7.00am to 6.00pm. - Birkdale - PDG-46413-1 - Shade Sail Renewal Lachlan Street Park
- Redland City Council Contractors will be conducting works including: • Demolition and removal of existing assets identified in RCC construction documents including shade sail structures; • Protection of existing assets including swing set, spinner, play tower, park table and spinner; • Design, supply, and installation of new shade sail structures in accordance with RCC construction documents Timeline: 13 September through to 13 October 2023, (Weather & Site conditions permitting)
- Birkdale - PDG-62102-1 - AC Main Replacement - Mary Pleasant Drive
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be replacing the existing Water Main from for the full length of Mary Pleasant Drive, from Agnes Street to Birkdale Road. Water services are not anticipated to be disrupted during the project until the point that the existing main is to be decommissioned and the new main commissioned. Those properties effected by the short duration outage will be notified in advance as required. - Birkdale - PDG-62103-1 - AC Main Replacement - Makaha Drive
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be replacing the existing Asbestos Cement Water Main for the full length of Makaha Drive from Bath Street to Birkdale Road. This will include Mala Crescent, Makena Crescent, Moku Crescent, Mamala Street, Moloaa Crescent, Moana Crescent, Mahie Crescent, Moloii Crescent. Water services are not anticipated to be disrupted during the project until the point that the existing main is to be decommissioned and the new main commissioned. This properties affected by the short duration outage will be notified in advance as required. - Birkdale - PDG-80502-1 - Koala Safe Fence at Birkdale Community Land Precinct
- Redland City Council Contractors will be constructing 550m of a koala fence, on the Birkdale Community Precinct boundary fronting Birkdale Road. The work required under this Contract comprises of the provision of all materials, plant/equipment, labour, and the performance of all operations necessary for the supply/delivery, installation, construction, supervision, and certification for the proposed works/services, which includes but are not limited to the following items: •protection of existing vegetation; •design, supply and installation of approximately 550m of 1.8m high koala proof fencing, offset from existing property boundary and existing temporary construction fencing; and •reinstatement of all disturbed areas. Timeline: 4 September 2023 through to 6 October , 2023, 7.00am to 6.00pm. (Weather and site conditions permitting)
- Cleveland - PDG-20763-1 - Wayfinding Signage – Cleveland and Ormiston Heritage Trail
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of new wayfinding signage and associated works. Expected Start Date - 23/05/2023 Expected Finish Date - 29/09/2023 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Cleveland - PDG-20765-1 - Directional Signage – Redland Track Park
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of new signage and bollards at various sites throughout Cleveland. Pressure clean existing Clark Street shelter, slab & park furniture, staining of shelter and park furniture, and associated works. Expected Start Date - 23/05/2023 Expected Finish Date - 29/09/2023 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Cleveland - PDG-20798-1 - RPAC Redevelopement - Stage 1
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Internal Constructions Crews will be reconfiguring the cul de sac area at the end of Middle Street, Cleveland to provide a safe set down area for the patrons of the Redlands Performing Arts Centre (RPAC). These works will involve, but not limited to: • Provide a safe pedestrian crossing point between RPAC and the courthouse through the construction of kerb ramps with tactile paving and designated pedestrian crossing. • Footpath upgrade in front of RPAC to make the crossfall DDA compliant. These upgrades will include the placement of coloured exposed aggerate concrete, construction of a concrete seating wall and garden beds complete with feature lighting and minor landscape works. • Creation of a drop-off zone in front of RPAC. • Lighting upgrades. • Asphalt road resurfacing. • Upgrades to the existing stormwater infrastructure. Timeframe: 27 March 2023 through to mid-August 2023. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather or contractor delays.

- Redland City Council Contractors will be upgrading and installing, control equipment and lighting to the following areas across the seating and back of house internal areas of the Concert Hall; Zone 1 Loading dock, change rooms and toilets. - Cleveland - PDG-44165 - Revetment Wall Renewal - Masthead Drive Cleveland (Masthead North)
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will remediate various sections of revetment wall utilising work methods including renewal and rehabilitation of wall, together with stabilising sections of the revetment batter (installing screw piles with concrete washers). Timeline: 17 June through to 15 December 2023, Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions. Should the date move further than 1 week from the above proposal an updated Notification will be issued.
- Cleveland - PDG-46939-1 - Cleveland SES Carport and Associated Works
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be designing and constructing a 17.3 metre by 15.8 metre shelter and undertaking associated works at the Cleveland SES Building. Timeline: 18 September through to 28 October 2023, 7.00am to 6.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Cleveland, Thornlands, Victoria Point - PDG-44992-1 - Redlands Coast Fibre Network Stage 2B
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be designing and installing fibre cable and associated works from Cleveland to Victoria Point. The provision of design, documentation, supply, construction, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of a long haul / distribution fibre cable, access points and service links including without limitation all associated communication, electrical, civil and mechanical components for the full functioning of a fibre optic wide area network. The scope of works extends across Redland City, commencing from the join outside the depot along Wellington Street and ending at the Victoria Point Waste Water Treatment Plant. This project is to be considered as part of the second stage of a larger fibre optic network and as such the end point of Victoria Point is not the end of the network but should be considered as an interconnect for the larger network. (However, for the purposes of this contract this Stage constitutes the entire project). Timeline: 26 October 2022 through to 13 October 2023, 7.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions. Should the date move further than 1 week from the above proposal an updated Notification will be issued.
- Mount Cotton Community Park - PDG-20813-1 - Multi-Purpose Facility – Mount Cotton Community Park
- Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the construction of a concrete rebound wall on a concrete slab with line marking and associated works. Expected Start Date - 03/10/2023 Expected Finish Date - 31/10/2023 (weather & site conditions permitting)
- Point Lookout - PDG-44159 - George Nothling Drive, Point Lookout - Road Upgrade
- Redland City Council’s Internal Construction Crews will be upgrading a small gravel section (approximately 600 meters long) of George Nothling Drive, Point Lookout from the end of the existing bitumen road and heading towards the beach access. These works will involve the following, but not limited to: • Tree trimming as required. • Reshaping to the existing pavement. • 6 meter wide 2 coat bitumen seal. • Any associated works to complete this project. Timeline: It is anticipated works will commence Monday 9th October 2023; with completion Late November 2023 This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather resulting in poor site conditions as well as Contractor availability.
- Redland Bay - PDG-46414 - Site Establishment – Weinam Creek Stage 3A
- Redland City Council’s Construction Project Unit are in the process of setting up site offices and material storage areas at the south western corner of Sel Outridge Park Redland Bay. These works are in preparation for the upcoming Weinam Creek Stage 3A project which forms part of the larger Weinam Creek PDA. Timeline: Tuesday 25th October 2022 through to late January 2023, 7.00am to 5.00pm. This completion date may change due to wet weather. Another Project Delivery Notification for the construction of the Weinam Creek Stage 3A project will be issued once a confirmed start date is known.
- Redland Bay - PDG-46414-1 - Weinam Creek Development Stage 3A
- Redland City Council’s Internal Construction Projects Unit will be undertaking works related to the Weinam Creek Development – Stage 3A and as part of the Project, Council will be constructing infrastructure within the Weinam Creek PDA Precinct. Works will involve, but not limited to: o Realignment of Hamilton St to give direct access to Weinam Creek Marina o Construction of a roundabout to the intersection of Hamilton St & Weinam St o Upgrade reconfiguration & realignment of all underground services incl of water, sewer, Telstra and electrical o Road resurfacing works to areas of the road which have been disturbed o Installation of line marking and traffic signs o Upgrade of all street lighting o Landscaping works Timeline: Tuesday 10th January 2023 and will be completed by June 2024, (weather permitting), 7.00am to 5.00pm. - Redland City Council’s Internal Construction Projects Unit will be undertaking works related to the Weinam Creek Development – Stage 3B-A and as part of the Project, Council will be constructing infrastructure within the Moore’s Road Carpark, Redland Bay. Works will involve, but not limited to: o Reconfiguration of existing carpark in Moore’s Road. o Installation of Water pipes o Installation of Manholes & Catchpits o Installation of kerb and channelling. o Installation of traffic islands. o Road resurfacing works to areas of the road which have been disturbed. o Installation of line marking and traffic signs. o Placement of turf to disturbed areas o Landscaping works. - Redland Bay - PDG-46982-2 - Charlie Buckler Sports Fields Upgrade Project
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking construction of the Charlie Buckler Sports Field Project and associated works at Redland Bay, Redland City. This project for the delivery for the Charlie Buckler Sports Upgrade Project includes the following: • Demolish and removal of the following existing infrastructure: o Rugby Union/Cricket clubhouse o Storage shed o DOLA o Basketball halfcourt o BMX Track o Cricket nets • Retain and protect: o Existing car parking o Play equipment o Tennis clubhouse facility and tennis courts o Sports field lighting • Construction of: o New clubhouse and storage including all associated service including all services: o Building o Plumbing o Electrical o Landscaping o Reconfiguration of the vehicular entry to the site including associated civil and landscaping works. o Extension of carpark o Field reconfiguration including relocation of goal posts in new irrigation system o Footpaths o Cricket nets o Reconfigured DOLA Timeline: Wednesday 23rd August through to Monday 17th June 2024, 7.00am to 6.00pm. - Thorneside - PDG-64303-3 - SPS029 Wet Well Renewal-Thorneside
- Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be designing and constructing the renewal of Sewerage Pump Station (SPS) SPS029 wet well, dry well and associated infrastructure. Timeline: 27 Sept 2023 through to 20 Dec 2023, 7.00am to 6.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions.
- Thornlands - PDG-43971-3 - Wellington St / Panorama Drive Upgrade – Stage 1
- The Wellington Street / Panorama Drive Road upgrade program is a road duplication project servicing a key Council controlled north-south arterial link in the centre north of Redland City. Stage 1 will involve road duplication along Panorama Drive from Boundary Road to the Wellington Street intersection and on Wellington Street from the Panorama Drive intersection as far as South Street, Thornlands. The Australian Government will provide $15 million towards intersection upgrades along the route for Stage 1 through the Infrastructure Investment Program, and the Queensland Government is providing $500,000 through the Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program 2021-2022. More information about the project is available at Wellington Street / Panorama Drive road upgrade program | Your Say Redlands Coast Minor disruptions are likely to occur as works progress and advance notice will be provided to road users and other stakeholders during these times. While disruptions are expected, much of the work will allow for the existing road to continue to carry traffic while the new lanes are constructed on the adjacent road reserve. Safety is a key priority for Council and there may be some reduction in posted speed limits during construction. Expected Start Date: February 2023 Expected Finish Date: October 2024 (weather and site conditions permitting) Some nightworks will occur throughout the project to minimise traffic disruptions
- Thornlands - PDG-46522 - Kinross Road, Thornlands - Temporary Pedestrian Connection
- Benefits: The benefits of this project include: • Provide a safe pedestrian connection along a small section of Kinross Road. • Mitigate pedestrians walking on a narrow section of a road with steady traffic flow. • Installation of drainage structures to prevent localised and overland water issues in inclement weather. Description of Works: Redland City Council Internal Construction crews will be constructing a temporary pedestrian connection along Kinross Road, Thornlands between Boundary Road and Lathro Way. These temporary pathway works will involve the following: • Minor tree trimming/ removal works. • Construct 1.5m wide bitumen pathway. • Installation of post and rail fencing, where required. • Any other associated works required to complete this works. Timeline: These works are scheduled to commence week beginning Monday 4th September 2023 with expected completion Late October 2023 (weather and site conditions permitting).

- Victoria Point - PDG-NA - Cleveland Redland Bay Rd, Victoria Point - Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)
- The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking a $110 million package of works to upgrade Cleveland-Redland Bay Road. Part of the project includes duplicating Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from Anita Street to Magnolia Parade. - Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of new signage, construction of kerb ramps, tactile paving and a new section of footpath connecting to existing, installation of turf to make good and associated works. - Wellington Point - PDG-46515-1 - Wellington Point Landslip Remediation Works
- Redland City Council Contractors will be remediating a landslip that occurred in the road embankment opposite properties 10 – 14 Esplanade, Wellington Point. The contractors will install a mesh and anchor system, to stabilise and prevent further landslips occurring in this area.
