In the FY2024/25 annual budget, Council has allocated $29.573 million to transport, roads, and traffic. This investment underscores our commitment to maintaining and enhancing our city's road infrastructure.
As part of Redland City Council's ongoing dedication to improving infrastructure, we are committed to undertaking a series of road and roundabout renewal projects included in the budget portfolio. These initiatives are designed to enhance safety, improve road conditions, and contribute to better roads for all users, ensuring that the projects meet the current needs of our community.
Works prioritisation
Council is scheduled to deliver a comprehensive series of road and roundabout renewal projects, focusing on key areas in Redland City that need safety and road condition improvements.
Our goal is to enhance road safety, improve driving conditions, and extend infrastructure lifespan. The scheduled works have been prioritised due to their critical role in enhancing safety, alleviating congestion, and ensuring better road conditions for the community.
State vs Council roads
It is important to note that not all roads are owned by Council; many are managed by the Queensland State Government (Department of Transport and Main Roads). Council works closely with the state government to ensure these roads are maintained and improved for the benefit of our community. This collaboration involves regular communication and joint planning to address the unique challenges and needs of state-owned roads. See the list of State controlled roads in Redland City.
Mitigating impacts on residents
Council understands that roadworks can be disruptive. We take several measures to minimise the impact on homeowners and residents, including:
- Advance notice: Informing residents well in advance about upcoming works.
- Work scheduling: Planning works during off-peak hours to reduce inconvenience.
- Access: Ensuring that access to homes and businesses is maintained as much as possible.
- Noise control: Implementing noise control measures to minimise disturbance.
If you have a question about works in your area please contact Redland City Council.
Upcoming road and roundabout works
Disclaimer: Impacted residents will be notified prior to the commencement of works. Please note that timelines for the works are unconfirmed and subject to change due to factors such as weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
